Masautso Nkhoma was Born in 1986 Lusaka and grew up in Kitwe, in Cha cha cha township Kitwe. Ruff Kid was raised by his mother, Getrude Nkhoma, as a single parent. While in his third grade music of Tu-pac Shakur influenced him to get into rap. Ruff Kid’s music career started in 2000 when he released his first single “Wekatemwikwa”. The song was an immediate success earning him the number 1 spot on the African international music charts on Channel O, on the Urban Massive show. Dream records released his first album “All 4 U”. His second studio album Matured was later released under Joe Chibungu. In 2006 his third album Most Wanted was released. In 2007 Ruff kid won multiple awards namely the Born and Bred Award for Best Hip-hop video, CBC Music video Award, Radio Awards.
