Mapara A Jazz is one of the buzzing bands in South Africa right now. But the boy band, which is made up of the friends Lenny Sbechu and Man Malaya Wa Tshwenya, has not just appeared on the music scene in the country. As a matter of fact, they have been around since 2007. Yes, that’s over a decade ago. But the Rainbow Nation seems to have slept on their creative spark. The group’s music leans somewhat toward amapiano, but as they would never stop telling those who care to listen, their piano is different and they are known for the original Pitori sound, bacardi music.

They have released couple of songs but finally came to limelight for their single John Vuli Gate which was well received with a dance challenge on the various social media platforms.
The song John Vuli Gate whi h means John should open the gate and let the girls into the yard, was inspired by a scene from Tsotsi, an Oscar winning South African film.
