DJ PH, whose real name is Phind’Gcobe Madubela (born X Month 1983), is a South African DJ, music producer, and radio presenter. He is known mostly for crafting Mashup Mixes which became one of the most downloaded and sought after mixes in South Africa.
DJ PH completed his tertiary qualification in marketing he then started working in the advertising industry while living in Cape Town. While there he also moonlighted as a resident DJ in clubs and lounges around the city. After some time he became the “party master” for brand parties like Jamieson Soul Session while in Cape Town before moving to South Africas largest city, Johannesburg. At the age of 24 he chose to start over in a new city with little more security than his sister’s couch.
Having done all he could to land a slot at a local radio station, he chose a different approach in order to build a name for himself. Using his knowledge of social media and advertising, this marketing enthusiast used the platforms to brand himself as a hip-hop DJ. This resulted in the artists increased popularity as a club DJ, which led to him playing at the hottest parties with the coolest celebrities and eventually received a call on his birthday in 2016 to join the 5FM line-up full-time, with his show airing every Saturday between 7 and 10pm.
