African Leadership University (Rwanda)

Scholarship for students to pursue post-secondary education at African Leadership University in Kigali, Rwanda. (For Rwandans living in Kigali, it will only cover tuition fees). The scholarship will identify 100 outstanding young Africans from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend ALU Kigali.

African Leadership University (Rwanda or Mauritius)

This scholarship is awarded to Zambian nationals hoping to pursue undergraduate studies in STEM disciplines at the African Leadership University in Rwanda or Mauritius. The award fully covers tuition fees.

Ashesi University (Ghana) OR Covenant University (Nigeria)

This scholarship is a partnership between the Jim Ovia Foundation and the Africa-America Institute; The award will provide comprehensive scholarships to select high achieving students from under resourced backgrounds, including tuition, room, and board for undergraduate study.

Landmark OR Covenant University (Nigeria)

David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarships for African students (all nationals) to study in Nigeria, at either Landmark or Covenant University. The scholarship program covers the full academic fees for a 5-year duration of study and in some categories, travels and living expenses for the duration of the course of study. Must be younger than 23 years old at the time of application and have secured admission to either university. Must also possess an internationally recognized high school diploma or equivalent.

University of Cape Town (South Africa)

The Klaus-Jürgen Bathe Leadership Programme is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in any of the six faculties of the University of Cape Town. Students can apply in their first year of study, or after completing first year. However, there must be at least two years of the degree programme remaining at the time of award. Postgraduate students are not eligible. It is expected that the majority of scholars will be citizens of South Africa, candidates from other sub-Saharan African countries are also welcome to apply. The scholarship offers full financial support to the value of R120,000-00 per year, intended to cover tuition fees, accommodation, meals and an allowance for books, stationery and transport.

University of Ghana, Legon (Ghana)

The Fondazione Edu Scholarship Focuses on the disciplines of technical-scientific and agronomic; Offers African students the opportunity to access higher education in their country of origin. The Scholarship will cover tuition, books, as well as room and board, and will be awarded for four years as long as excellent academic standards of at least a B average of 3.00 CGPA continue to be met and need is demonstrated.

Undergraduate scholarships

  1. The University of Canterbury First Year Scholarships

The University of Canterbury offers the scholarship to top achieving first year undergraduates at the university. The scholarship award is valued at $10000, $15000 or $20000.

  1. New Zealand International Scholarships

The New Zealand Government offers full tertiary scholarships for eligible international students to study at a New Zealand education institution or a Pacific university. Citizens of Africa, Pacific, Asia, Latin America, Caribbean and Commonwealth Countries are eligible for the scholarship. Full tuition fee, a living allowance (NZ$491 per week), an establishment allowance (NZ$3000), medical insurance, airfare (to and fro your home country, as well as within New Zealand) and research and thesis costs are the total package of the scholarship.


  • The minimum age requirement is 18 years, except for Samoa scholars who could apply at the age of 17.
  • Must contribute to the home country’s social welfare for at least, two years.
  1. Bachelor of Business (Organizational Technology Management)

The scholarship is for undergraduates who wish to study at the School of Management in Massey University. It is valued at NZ$29,370 per year.

  1. Bachelor’s Product Design, University of Canterbury Scholarship (partial funding)

The award of the scholarship is $5000 per annum for the period of two years.

  1. DairyNZ Undergraduate Scholarships in New Zealand

The scholarship is open for those in the department of Food Science and Agriculture and covers only the full tuition fees.

  1. Keir Trust Study Awards at Auckland University of Technology (partial funding)

The award is open for students who are looking for bachelor scholarship in New Zealand.

  1. Victoria Tongarewa Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington (partial funding)

The scholarship is open for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The benefit is between $5000 and $10000. The applicant must submit a personal statement stating why he/she needs the scholarship.

  1. ADB Scholarships at the University of Auckland

The scholarship is limited to Masters of Public Health, Environmental Science, Arts, International Business and Engineering. The applicants must have at least, two-year work experience, be below 35 and agree to return to home country after studies to qualify.

  1. New Zealand-ASEAN Awards

The scholarship is available for postgraduate diploma, Master’s degree and PhD. Preferred fields of study include agriculture, fisheries, renewable energy, disaster risk management, natural resources management, health and education.

  1. University of Otago International Research Master’s Scholarships

This award is to help in providing a fund to an international student who are undertaking a thesis-based Master’s degree at the university. The scholarship includes a tuition fee waiver for one year and NZ$15000 stipend only.

  1. University of Otago Doctoral Scholarships

The Scholarship is available for both domestic and international students and worth NZ$25000 per annum.

  1. Victoria Master’s Scholarships
